The Future of Democracy — Inaugural Conference

Organized by Dr. Jovan Rebolledo through the SingularityU Tokyo Chapter, this was the first global conference under the "Future of Democracy" framing. Several months later, President Obama would convene a major event under exactly the same title — but Exponential Japan was first.

The 2022 conference was the founding moment of what is now Exponential Japan's Justice & Governance pillar. It connected Japanese, American, and Latin American thinkers to explore how AI-driven institutions could either erode or strengthen democratic accountability. The Triad Justice System is the practical answer to questions raised at that conference.
